The Family Vacation

We did it!  We finally found a week in which the entire husband's family (i.e. MIL, FIL, SIL, BIL, cutest niece ever, and us) can go on vacation together this summer - let's talk about stressful.  There was a few minutes there that we thought it was never going to work out and we just weren't going to be able to go, but everything's good now and the process of finding a place to stay that we all agree on begins.  Actually, we aren't really all that picky, but we do require it either be directly on the beach or just right across the street and it must have a pool as well.  But that's neither here nor there.

What's most exciting about this trip is that it will be Abby and Maddie's first time to see the ocean.  Oh, I can't wait to see the beach through the eyes of a 3 year old and a 7 month old - it's going to be magical!  So much so that the only view of the ocean I may see the entire week could possibly be the ones through the viewfinder on my camera and I'm completely thrilled about this! :)

In honor of this momentous occasion, I thought it would be fun to break out a few pictures from our last family vacation - circa 2008 (last summer we were preggo and the summer before Maddie was a newborn so it's been a while).  That year, in addition to the husband's family, there were two other families with us - so fun!  It will be pretty interesting to see how our vacations change now that we're no longer the kids!  One thing's for sure - unless some kind of miracle takes place between now and the end of July, the chances of me rocking a mom-suit are pretty good (sorry, husband - you may think I look great (and I completely appreciate that), but I sure don't think I look great enough to sport a bikini in public any time soon). 

Some of us may or may not have started drinking on the way down.
