A Garage Sale, Halloween, & a Bump-date

I hope everyone had a wonderfully spooky Halloween weekend (although we ended up with ZERO trick-or-treaters - so sad)!  I started ours off Friday night by working on our costumes.  Saturday morning I was up bright and early for our group garage sale (which was a huge success, btw - we estimated that between the 7 of us, we made between $1,300-$1,400!) and then I went home to watch the second half of the Tennessee game, put the finishing touches on our costumes, and take a much needed nap.  Saturday night, we went to a Halloween party...want to know what I finally decided on for us?  Humpty Dumpty and Mrs. Humpty Dumpty - and I think they turned out pretty darn cute if I do say so myself!  Here are a few of the costumes from the night.

Man in Bed with Hot Blonde - won Funniest Costume

Double Dare - won Most Original Costume

Geico Caveman - won Best Overall Costume (he made the mask himself)

Sunday, I got up early and broke out the sewing machine to work on those infamous curtains for our master bedroom - I got 2 more panels done (only 1 more to go) before we had to head to lunch with the husband's family to celebrate the October/November birthdays.  We also got to see the cutest niece ever in her costume.  I was hoping to do a full photo shoot with her, but me and the husband were running slightly late (shocker!) so by the time we got there, she was pretty much over taking pictures and was ready to eat.  Below are a few cute ones that I got of her though.

Oh yeah, and for those of you that might be wondering - the husband and I talked about it and we're skipping the Garth Brooks concert (I am still a little sad about this, but think it's probably the best decision given the circumstances) and we're going to decorate for Christmas (at least the inside of the house anyways) not this weekend, but next weekend.  However, I did not get to make myself any chocolate chip cookies (but this fabulous girl did make some of her famous pumpkin chocolate chip cookies and brought me a few Saturday night.  I was so excited that I ate them for breakfast Sunday morning - yes, I have no shame!).

Now it's time for the bump-date.

How far along - 35 weeks

Belly button/stretch marks - Still no stretch marks, but the belly button is definitely trying to pop out now.

Symptoms:  No new symptoms this week.  Just for the record, I think I've determined that heartburn is my least favorite pregnancy symptom.

Labor signs:  Still none!  I determined this weekend that as long as Abby stays put for another 2.5 weeks then she can come whenever she wants.  Why 2.5 weeks?  Well, that will make her full-term for one thing, but we have our child birth class this weekend (we're taking the super accelerated all weekend long version) and then we have our breastfeeding class next Friday night.  Once we make it through those 3 things I think we'll be as ready for her arrival as we're going to be!

Best moment of the week:  Realizing there are only 5 weeks to go (but if we go by when I think she's going to arrive there are only 4).

What I'm looking forward to:  Going to purchase the remaining necessities we need before she gets here - I hope to do this some time this week just so it can be crossed of the list.  I'm also looking forward to our child birth class this weekend as weird as it sounds.  I think it might help me relax a little bit when it comes to D-Day.

That's all for today, kids!  See you tomorrow!
