Consignment Finds & Nursery Update

So I realize this post was promised last night, but I was reminded on my way home from work that the husband and I had plans to go see this guy night.  When we were in college, we spent EVERY SINGLE Monday night at the O'Charley's on The Strip listening to him play and we now make every attempt to go see him if he plays anywhere near us.  Over the years, we have come to consider him a great friend (so much so that he even played at our wedding reception).  So, I apologize for not doing as I promised yesterday.  Anyways, back to the point of this post!

You may remember I went to my 1st consignment sale last weekend (I also took off work today to hang out with my MIL & SIL and we went to another one this morning).  Below are my finds.  After attending a couple large consignment sales, I've learned a few things about them as well as myself.  First, you have to be really patient to find good stuff.  This typically means that you have to "dig".  My SIL is great at this!  I, however, am not.  I lose interest very quickly and am ready to be done within a few minutes.  Second, you have to be brave and stand your ground.  There are typically LOTS of people at these sales and most of them are pretty aggressive in going through the clothes.  Again, I am not good at this.  I am the type of person who HATES being in a crowd - combine that with "digging" and I may be okay for about 5 minutes, but shortly after that and you can just go ahead and count me out.  I want nothing to do with it!  Despite both of these, I still had a good time at both sales and I do think I'll keep going to them, but I'm probably never going to be one of those women you see in line with arms full of stuff - I'll be the girl in the 10 items or less lane!

Here are the latest pics of the nursery.  And I need a little help on 2 things from all you wanna-be designers out there.  First, notice on the 2 outside windows there is only one curtain panel per window.  I've noticed this several times in magazines (it's for sure in the newest Pottery Barn Kids catalog), but I'm not really sure how I feel about it.  My reasoning for doing it is that each panel is more than wide enough on it's own to cover the window completely, so it's kind of a waste of money to buy 2 more panels; however, this is still an option if I decide I just can't handle the whole 1 panel/window thing.

Secondly, I need some inspiration for the wall above the changing table.  I know I would like a shelf of some sort for decorative things/storage and I would like baby girl's name/initials somewhere on that wall as well.  But I'm at a bit of a loss as to what I want to do for sure at the moment.

Please let me know any suggestions you guys have (but also please don't be offended if I don't take your suggestion - it doesn't mean I don't like it or think it's a good idea).

Ignore the wandering pup - she's convinced that everything in this room belongs to her for some reason.  Poor thing,
she just doesn't realize how much her life is going to change in a few months.

FYI, the tv is not a permanent fixture in here; however, it will stay until the late-night feedings cease - once that
happens I will worry about what to do here.  Also, the 4th wall isn't pictured as it's just a wall of closets.

oooh....wall above the changing table...what about some floating shelves and/or magnetic flowers? I've recently seen both on younghouselove.com (their nursury for the floating shelves and their office for the flowers). Just an idea!

I think the one panel on the outside windows looks fine. It does look very design-y even. Plus, you'll probably have these pulled closed a lot of the time I imagine.
As far as above the changing table I like the idea of a shelf. They make a lot of wall decals now, and I'm sure you can find a cute alphabet one to put her name on the wall. I would probably put it above the shelf too, but far enough above so that whatever is on the shelf doesn't block the letters. Also, if you want me to come paint something I would be more than happy to do that.
Ignore all of this if it didn't help you or confused you!
