The most exciting thing that happened while I was gone was that we had our 1st weekly doctor's appointment to check Abby's progress and as of last Thursday I was beginning to dilate! I was only at 1 cm (and I realize I still have a long way to go), but I don't care. Progress is progress and I was just happy to have something considering how much more uncomfortable I have been over the last 2 weeks or so. So to those of you who sent happy thoughts our way, thank you so much - it appears to have worked! Our doctor also told us that if she had to guess, she didn't think I would go 40 weeks, but would instead deliver some time the week of Thanksgiving (for all of you who have been paying attention - this means my instinct is correct as this is what I've been predicting for the last 2 or so months). That means we'll probably get to meet baby girl in 2 weeks! Crazy, but oh so exciting (and definitely ready)! When we walked out of our doctor's appointment that day, the husband looked at me and said he felt like he was in a hurricane and couldn't get his umbrella to open. :) I think he's feeling a little overwhelmed, poor guy! But it definitely kicked him into gear because yesterday he went with me to pick up the remaining stuff from our registry we needed before Abby's arrival and he put the car seat in my car last night. Not gonna lie, while I'm very excited about what's about to happen, I felt very old when I looked in my rear view this morning and saw the car seat staring back at me. :) So that's what's been going on around here lately - I hope you guys are all doing great! I'll be back later to post the bump-dates (and pictures) from the last 2 weeks.
